This zine was created in response to an assessment brief to create a zine exploring a typeface of our choice for a Typographic Design unit at QUT. I used the typeface I created for a prior assessment - in which I represented the symbiotic relationship between the 1980s Club Kids subculture and substance use.
Exploring the Rudy G typeface through this zine, I continue the visual appropriation of the Club Kid subculture. The concept of perversion, derived from Rudy G's design process involving material manipulation, aligns with the typeface's intent and its commentary on corruption in 1990s politics.

Examining the cultural influences of Club Kids, I drew inspiration from the theatrically aggressive zeitgeists of punk and Riot Grrrl. Embracing punk design's goal of disseminating information through reactionary design and its rich history in zine creation, I aimed to visually convey Rudy G's intent and enhance the meaning of the characters.
The creation of this zine honed my skills in typography and composition, contributing to my future design practice.
